Plasma IQ is a minimally invasive, ablative technology that uses thermal energy by radio frequency micro-currents to create a controlled skin surface micro-injuries and subsequently to rejuvenate and tighten skin and reduce the signs of aging. Plasma IQ is FDA-cleared to be used in the removal and destruction of skin lesions and the coagulation of tissue.

This is a remarkable tightening technique that requires ZERO surgery. Pre-Procedure Care

  • Avoid NSAIDS, ASA and blood thinners for 1-2 days and up to 7 days before treatment if approved by your treating physician
  • No fillers, or energy-based devices like RF, Ultherapy, HIFU, Laser for 4 weeks before treatment
  • No sun tanning, microneedling, chemical peels, and neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Nuceiva for 2-3 weeks before treatment
  • No signs of skin infection like cellulitis at the time of treatment
  • Inform your doctors of full medical history like autoimmune disorders like lupus, history of scars or hyperpigmentation after wounds or surgeries, metal implants or heart pacemakers, cold sore, skin diseases like eczema, pregnancy, or breastfeeding
  • No travels planned for 2 weeks after treatment to make sure your treated skin in not exposed to excessive sun light as it increases the chance of hyperpigmentation
  • This treatment is not usually recommended in dark-skinned patients and your MD may prescribe some meds before and after your treatment to reduce that complication.

Post-Procedure Care

  • There may be stinging in the treated area immediately following treatment. This is normal and typically lasts for about an hour, but some variation in time may occur.
  • Avoid using chemical peels, retinols, or dermal fillers 2-4 weeks before and after the treatment.
  • Avoid touching or cleansing the area for at least 12 hours after the procedure.
  • Avoid heat, steam or sweat for 48 hours after the procedure. After 48 hours you can apply sunscreen to the treated area daily.
  • Avoid sun exposure after the treatment for minimum of 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Make sure to use your skin care products advised by your physician-moisturizer or occlusive balm like petrolatum jelly or Aquaphor twice daily after gentle cleansing.
  • Redness should go away in 1-3 days and carbon crusts on treated areas are normal. Please do not pick at or scratch at scabs during the healing phase, which typically lasts 5-7 days. This may delay healing or affect outcomes.
  • Do not use makeup or products other than gentle cleanser/ moisturizer/ occlusive balm/ sunscreen until scabs have fallen off.
  • If redness lingers or pain appears, please contact our clinic asap.

Hyperpigmentation of the treated area is a possibility especially in ethnicities with darker skin colour, sun exposure, secondary infection, and not using proper skin care before or after the procedure.
